Lazy Eats: Jjajangmyung, Chia Seed Pudding, and Fatventures with Fatmine + Company and ThaiThai

One day I was craving bad food, especially jjajamyung...soooo I kinda got some jjajamyung...I sent a photo to Fatmine/Jaja-myung too, haha I'm sure she appreciated my gesture :P

I had dried fruit that was way too sweet to eat alone, and then I remembered that I had chia seeds :O I'm a genius. I stirred together vanilla almond milk and chia seeds, let it sit in the fridge for a while, then topped it off with dried fruit and walnuts. Healthy, fulfilling breakfast :)

ThaiThai and I went for our once-in-a-blue-moon lunchtime P: I took him to Great Dane Coffee, and he got some pastursss (pasta). He didn't appreciate the cheese; he was expecting feta because the pasta tasted sort of "Greek". I'm pretty glad that I met him because he went to a lot of really good places, and he has great taste. He is a true foodie master, all hail ThaiThai.

This is my sammich. Am I hipster yet? Probably not.

Oh yeeeeezzz. What I liked about this was the super crunchy bread that was just a bit soft, and the cheese :P The arugula also stood out, which balanced with the oils. Yummy.

Soooo I kinda made pizza in a mug with the strangest ingredients. Instead of using all purpose flour, I substituted that with brown rice flour, and then I used pumpkin tomato sauce instead of marinara (didn't have anything else) and coconut-based vegan cheese. That's like...the most unconventional pizza I've ever heard of (so far). All in a mug. It actually tasted pretty good, though the pastry-like "crust" is something that you'll have to get used to. I haven't tried it the "original pizza mug" way, so I can't really compare.

I went to Richmond with Fatmine and got another junk food fix for myself P: I didn't have time for lunch so I was starving. I got a cheesecake bubble waffle with a nacho-flavored rotato. Yumyum.

Isn't Fatmine a great model? She is the face of UBC; I'm sure if you do some browsing around some websites, you'll be bound to find her face, either helping children or smiling like the happy college student she is (not sure if she agrees though).

We've been planning to go to Soho for a while, sooooo...we went one day :D She got some fried rice, and I got...
This tall pudding milk tea... (it was sooo hard to get the pudding out. Nothing really special about this, tastes like your standard bubble tea).....

And this vegetarian Malaysian-styled satay dish. The little tofu strips were really good; they weren't too soft, and had just a bit of resistance to them. The flavors from this were quite strong, but at least it wasn't bland :D
After 999 hours trying to decide which flavor to get, we got the black forest toast box. It was really hard to finish because there were so many carbs x__x It was good but...we felt fat, lolol. I think the ice cream and bread made it really filling.
Inside, there were cherries...I guess that's part of the "black forest". I mean it kind of makes sense....chocolate ice cream, cherries, and strawberries. I was expecting something richer, but I'm glad they didn't do that otherwise it'd be even harder to finish.

Pre-concert Noms

This is just a collection of food I ate before the end of the school year.

One of my friends recommended dinner at Splitz Grill after she realized Hawker's Delight only takes cash, haha. I think they only have two vegetarian options; the veggie burger and the spicy lentil burger. I like the big portions, and the lentil burger was pretty on point, although a little on the dry side. It kept falling apart, but that's usually what happens with certain veggie patties (I think if people put rice in it, it'll stay together). For my taste, it wasn't that spicy. It had a light pepper/curry taste to it, but it didn't make me want to grab water or milk.

I visited Well Tea again with the Weener! I ordered the Vegetarian Teppanyaki, which really tastes like chicken to me...Weener disagrees. :| It's really the flavoring that makes it taste like chicken.

I also got hot ginger longan tea, and she got hot bubble tea with pearls.

This is Weener's dish. I forgot what she got :P

I tried to mitigate my crappy eating with this drink at Starbucks, but we all know that it doesn't work like that, lol.

I stopped by the Honey Shoppe again!! :D My friend that works there let me try the Honey Stinger energy chews once, so I knew I had to get my hands on some.

This is Fatmine's blueberry milkshake from Triple O's. This kind of stuff is a nightmare for my stomach, lol.

HK Foodie and Sasquash Adventures Part 2

Part 2 guys, let's go.

We went to Banzai Sushi because cheap stuff for good portions. It makes you wonder about where they get their food though...like why is it so cheap...hm. I got the vegetarian combo since it's one of the few things I can eat. However, I like it a lot, and it's super filling; it costs about $8 CAD, but I always feel like packing half of it.

I think this was HK's. He got sashimiiiiii

Sasquach's stuff.

We went to Dragon Ball Bubble Tea afterwards, which was recommended by one of HK's friends who claimed the boba was really good. I should've got boba...oh well. Instead I decided to torture my stomach by getting a matcha ice cream smoothie. I really liked the consistency of this, it was smooth. It was also really hard to finish because dairy is super filling.
I forgot what HK ordered, lol.
I also forgot what Sasquach ordered. x'D

HK also wanted to go to Deer Garden, so we traveled 999 miles to this Hong Kong-styled place. This is my ginger tea :P I like the ginger to be just right; not too subtle, but not too overpowering either.
Sasquach's...
and HK's.
One of the boys'. I think you had to get this as a side when you order a noodle soup, so it had to go on my bill (but I got paid back).
This is cow tongue. I've never tried it, but apparently it's not that bad. If you're ever curious, you can ask HK, lol. I believe tongue is just tougher, but the taste is still good (yo, I wouldn't know though, don't quote me on that).
HK also got these adorable toasts with sticks of butter on them. The garnish makes me laugh...like do they think two slices of cucumber makes it look slightly better (actually yes, unfortunately).
This is what the noodle menu looks like. I noticed that they served penne as a noodle, so for trolls, I got that :D
I got a tomato and pumpkin soup, which was pretty glorious <3 I had trouble finishing it though, man there's so much food. For the price and amount of food, the noodle soups are definitely worth it.
Sasquach's thing, idk anymore, lmao.

HK Foodie and Sasquash Adventures Part 1

So, they're these two poops called HK Foodie and Sasquash. Say hiiii~~

First off, we went to this super classy dim sum restaurant called Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant that's apparently located in LA...and HK was trying to get hookups, but the manager he knew left, rip. This place was pretty classy...it was inside a casino...

Here are some tiny radish cakes, fresh from the oven. They taste so much better when they're fresh. :P The crunchy nest around it is also yummy. If you want fried food, this is a dim sum must.
I also got salty egg-covered pumpkin, which was on the pricey side because of the salted egg...There was a lot of food O__O Too much fried stuff...
These are the pork buns, which are actually kind of small compared to others that I've seen at dim sum. These are also glazed *__*

Durian mochi! For the first time, everyone at the table ate durian...since when does that happen. These mochi balls were tinier than the ones at Pink Pearl though. You can see that this restaurant is a little too high end to eat at by myself, lol.

Ha gao (shrimp dumplings) garnished with a broccoli...the broccoli is a such a fail.

Ha chong (shrimp in noodles) garnished with cilantro, and your pour the sauce yourself. It looks so cool :D

This is how much Sasquash fails at picking up Ha Chong.

I don't think this place called it Lo Mai Gai (sticky rice) because there were some other ingredients in it? The rice was special; it was wild rice. Nice long grains of wild rice, like whoa.

We also visited Beard Papa's in Richmond, and I tried the Match fondant. Look at that nice gooiness, oh yes.

HK got a mango puff :)
