Adventures of Fatmine & Fatmanda: Moii Cafe ~~ "Crepes, Tapioca Drinks, and More!"

So, this cute lid pretty much says everything you need to know about the menu. <3
The interior of the place is gorgeous; it's very thrifty and trendy :D Plus, there's free Wi-Fi.

My super sweet peach green tea, and Fatmine's lavender milk tea.

Since I'm cheap, I only got the cheese crepe from the savory menu. The garnish tastes really nice :D I was surprised that the cheapest crepe would taste so good; the crepe was easy to cut, and it was so soft! All of their savory crepes include pepper and mayo.

Fatmine got the dark chocolate banana :P

Adventures of Fatmine & Fatmanda: Italian Heritage Month on Commercial Drive

This festival was roughly 15 blocks long...and Fatmine and I trekked the whole thing...in the hot blazing sun x__x

Look at all the people man. Like, holy...

But still, we had a nice lunch together :D It was stress-relieving too...phew.

I liked this lemonade! It was mango lemonade, with more mango than lemon :P My only problem was that they didn't fill it up to the top -__- come on guys.

This guy was pretty rad. He was also promoting medical marijuana. Cool cool.

Earl grey iced tea with oranges :D the oranges must've been soaking in the tea for a while, because it was quite prominent! However, it wasn't enough to overpower the drink; it was quite refreshing.

I've always wanted to try a canoli, and now I finally did. The cream is amazing :D it's thick, and has a kick of lemon. The pistachios also give it a good crunch and nutty flavor.

This mango was probably one of the top items of the market. There were a lot of people with them; one woman even asked Fatmine where she got hers. It's basically a mango on a stick, cut in a fashionable way. Clever marketing. I got the coconut :D He pretty much drilled a hole and stuck a straw in it, hahah. I had fun hacking it at home so I could eat the flesh >:D That was real stress relief.

Adventures of Fatmine & Fatmanda: Tacofino at Gastown

Another super trendy place at Gastown! Also, let me warn you; please go to Gastown or Chinatown with a friend, because you never know what might happen...there were some interesting encounters >__>

But besides that, check out this awesome chair! Like, whoaaa. There were also hanging succulents. That's pretty rad.

The napkins are also super thick and textured. I took mine without using it :D hehehe

Okay, now putting that aside, this place isn't too expensive; it's pretty affordable. The burritos are $10, but they're also REALLY big. I think they're just a bit bigger than Chipotle's. Also, you can choose to dine in or eat one on the go.

I got the vegan burrito, and Fatmine got the chicken burrito. Yep, we felt pretty fat after eating these...no regrets. :3

Coquittle Adventures: Miracle Belgian Waffle and Ninja Bubble Tea

I finally went to Coquitlam (cue the party balloons and noise makers)

Since Fatmine and Fatsteria are busy on the other side of the world, I have to keep bringing new friends. Sucks for you guys ;D

In short, Miracle is pretty good; it's not really cheap, but it's affordable. The waffles are smaller than what I'm used to seeing at other places, but it's still a nice place.
The menu is also really small; it's smaller than my laptop screen :O
(oh, and girls...there's some nice eye candy here ;) that's how you get business.)

I ordered a savory crepe with cheese, tomato, basil, onions, and balsamic vinegar on the Brussels waffle. I think the vinegar and oils made the waffle a bit soft, and the crispy edges crumbled quite easily because of that...I wonder if I should've gotten the soft waffle.

Fatshrewm got a "berry good" waffle (hahaha, these puns). It's basically blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries on a waffle with powdered sugar, syrup, and sweet whipped cream.

Afterwards, we went to Neeenjaaaa Bubble Tea!! HWATCHA.
You can order a liter/litre of bubble tea, like whoa.

I got the Jade green milk tea, and Fatshrewm got a strawberry slush. It took me forever to figure out what I wanted.
Hmmm I wonder who these people are.

Adventures of Fatmine & Fatmanda: Chatime..again

Chatime is, hands down, the best place for bubble tea. Seriously.

Check out my black tea mousse. I was expecting something more "mousse-like", but I'm not disappointed. I mean, look at that smiley face :D That makes me happy.
Though I'm surprised at the hype for this option (it's marked as a popular item), it's still pretty good; it tastes a lot like....barley milk tea? It was fun to mix the drink too, heehee.

Fatmine's taro milk tea, with REAL taro. I'm not the biggest fan of taro (it's ok), but even then, this drink tastes pretty dang good.

I also got engaged. Just kidding.

Uppercase (and Safeway): Preppin' for Biology

I've only been to Uppercase for their dessert, so I decided to give their savory options a chance. For the price, I would say their options are pretty worth it.
I also just realized that Uppercase is a conjunction of Blue Chip and the bagel shop (forgot the name) form the old SUB. No wonder.

I got the Veggiewich. $4.25, not bad.

This is a giant protein shake I got from Safeway while I was going to UBC. I've tried Happy Planet's fruit smoothies before, but I never tried their protein shakes. I'll warn you; it's REALLY filling (I mean, it's protein). This was pretty much my lunch because I felt so full after drinking it throughout the morning. The entire bottle is about 30g of protein, and 15% of the recommended daily fat intake. It's also an amazing source of iron (45% of the recommended daily intake) because of the soy and cocoa.

Adventures of Fatmine & Fatmanda: Tractor ~ Trendy Stuff

After flipping a coin because of our indecisiveness, Fatmine and I finally decided to go to Tractor. It's not the biggest bang for your buck, but the quality is very promising.

I got lentil soup and Fatmine ordered a Pork Sandwich. I honestly don't think the sandwiches are worth it because it's $5 for half (which is really small) and $9 for a whole (which is also really small). However, the ingredients are natural and each dish is very nutritious. My soup was only $6, and it was pretty filling. They also have salads for $3.25, but I'm not sure about the size of the salads.

Faubourg: Happy Father's Day

I decided to halt my regular posts so I could post about Father's Day! Hi Dad, happy Father's Day.

So, since I was in Kerrisdale, and Fatmine wanted some cake, I decided to go to Faubourg, which was a place that I've been wanting to check out for quite a while. They were also selling Father's Day cakes! Sorry Dad, I ate the cake with Fatmine...but you don't like sweets anyways xP I encourage you to try their stuff at least once though.

Their desserts are to die for. Both cakes, the tiramisu (left) and the chocolate praline (right) were smooth and not very heavy. The tiramisu has chocolate cake at the bottom instead of lady fingers dipped in espresso (Fatmine is a tiramisu expert). The praline was like mousse with a hint of crunch and nuttiness.
Also, the praline was beginning to melt by the time I opened the box, so make sure that the cakes stay cold. I apologize that the second picture doesn't show the cakes at their best; I was bustling around too much. You can ogle at the first picture instead :O

Also, Fatmine got a mini frappucino. It's probably good for controlling your sugar intake, but it's really not worth the price. You might as well get a venti, and then split it with friends.

Rain or Shine: Ice Cream

This place kind of reminds me of Molly Moon's. Speaking of Molly Moon's...I really need to go back there.

Anyways, I think it reminds me of Molly's because of the flavors they have. They're very original and "raw". For instance, they have Honey Lavender, London Fog, Rhubarb and Ginger Streusel...but one thing that's different is that this place offers vegan ice cream. Pretty cool.

Don't judge me...I sampled three flavors and ordered two completely different ones. If you can't decide on a flavor, that's what you gotta do guys....

I got Jasmine Green Tea and the Vegan Coconut Chocolate Chunk. I really like flavors with tea, because the tea is so prominent.

Fatmine got ONLY Honey Lavender, in a cone, because she's a loser (jk). Honey Lavender is a good choice. It even has real lavender in the ice cream. But I wonder...if you have allergies...hmm. >__>

The cups also say "caution: hot contents". Lol, you lie.

Palate, Uppercase, Loop Cafe: UBC food

I've already blogged about these places but...well, I ordered different things >__> I guess that's the good thing with UBC; at least they have enough variety to keep people (like me) coming back.

Here is an oat fudge brownie. It was only $2 too, and it's quite large x__x It's a lot of sugar to take in...I advise you to share this with someone. Also, please...don't call this lunch, because it's not. I see people going to Uppercase ordering dessert for a meal...really guys -__-

My dindin~ it's a quinoa curry wrap from Palate in the new SUB. I've been to Palate a few times and had their sandwiches, but I haven't tried their wraps. The wraps are also a $1 cheaper, so I thought, why not. I was surprised by the curry; usually, a lot of curried dishes (that aren't from Asian restaurants) are not spicy enough, for my taste. Surprisingly, after the first wrap, my tongue could feel the capsaicin. Palate deserves a gold star for that <3

This is one of my lunches. I've had the vegetarian Shepherd's pie a few times; it's quite good. I like the corner pieces, because the rims are crispy :P I also like ordering balsamic vinegar with the salad it comes with, because mixing it with the Shepherd's pie tastes amazing. It looks gross when you mix it though, so if you want to be more "civilized", you can try spooning portions of each separately into your mouth.

I just noticed that they serve Italian soda too! Not really worth the price, but when is Italian soda worth the price? It's literally syrup with carbonated water. I got coconut syrup and added milk to mine from the coffee area, hehehe. Fatmine hates the coconut one though. Whatev man xP

On another day (I don't remember) I got a quinoa brownie, and Fatmine ordered the tiramisu cup. The brownie tastes nice; moist, just a bit crumbly, and has a tinge of citrus.

However, the tiramisu...you can smell the rum. I think they accidentally put too much in the cream. After having a little spoonful, the alcohol is pretty prominent. Other than that, it didn't taste too bad.
Fatmine got drunk though. She was saying all kinds of nonsense (jk, she didn't get drunk).

Suika: Japanese Goodiness

The first time I went here, my Australian friend brought me here. She was my one of my first eating buddies...until we lived too far from each other... :'( She was so cool.

When I was researching the address, I realized that there's a Suika in Seattle as well, located on Pine Street. Also, it's part of a group chain that includes Kingyo and Rajio. I heard that Rajio was an exceptionally good Japanese Restaurant, and I heard generally good things about Suika.
If you're curious, Suika means watermelon, Rajio is a Romanization of Radio, and Kingyo means goldfish. How cute is that~

Asari Yaki Udon

I think this was the...Tuna Avocado? I could be wrong.

Agedashi tofu with fried shrimp

Cold Ramen Salad

CORN KARAGE. I could just live off of this for a while. Cheap and delicious.

This was on their special menu. I honestly don't like mushrooms, but the way their marinated them was just... glorious. However, it's very flavorful and salty. This was a recommendation by our waitress. It's basically mushrooms sautéed with special teriyaki sauce, and then topped with onions. It was hot, and orgasmic.

Just like how some restaurants serve candy out fortune cookies cookies at the end of your meal, Suika serves frozen grapes as a light, summer dessert. I like to freeze grapes too; they feels so nice in my mouth.

La Petite Cuillere: High Tea

For Fatmine's super early birthday, we went to La petite cuillere. It's been around for 3 years, but not many people have heard much about it. It's located near Kingsway and Main Street, and it's right beside Vancity Weed (hahaha).

The aesthetics are really nice; it feels vintage and classy. I almost feel like I'm living in the 1900's or something. Fatmine, a friend, and I ordered from the English Tea Service menu; I had the La petite fromage with their premium Darjeeling Estate tea, and they had Afternoon Tea. The difference between each choice is their sizes; mine was a small plate of fruit, cheese, crackers, and nuts. They ordered a larger portion that included cakes and tarts. High tea is generally expensive, but this place was one of the cheaper options in Vancouver.

Would I come here again? Only if there's a special occasion. I don't think it's worth to spend $$ on high tea all the time, because you'll be broke, and your stomach won't be filled. Happy super early birthday Fatmine.

My friend's iced tea.

My tea came with an adorable cozy :DDD
