Spending Money Everywhere: UBC, Downtown, North Burnaby, Cambie...

I didn't realize that Koerner's Pub was open during the day, that was shallow-minded of me. Since it's a pub, they do ask for ID here, even if you just want the really nice food. It's definitely on the pricey side, but I think the portion and quality is worth the price. I ordered the veggie burger and their daily soup. The patty was really nice; it was a bit spicy, and made of lentils. The soup was nice and creamy. I think it was butternut squash. Definitely one of the nicer veggie burgers that I've tried.

I finally went to Delicious Pho, but not really for the pho...they serve durian smoothies >__> Pho was pretty generic, in my opinion. They also serve egg noodles, which I should've gotten. I'm actually not that big of a fan of rice noodles, they just taste a little to plain to me, and there's not enough bite. They're just okay to me.

The durian smoothies came in mason jars :D So cute.

My dad bought these snack mixes. I only took a picture because the packaging looks super nice. :D

Also got to try New York Fries for the first time. I still don't really understand the hype about it, but the fries are still pretty damn good; not soggy, not too oily. They were also the perfect size, balancing the soft inside with the crispiness (I like my fries crispy). I ordered the veggie, which is a sad helping of vegetables (mostly tomatoes) and cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was really good though, it was real cheddar (not that fake tasting cheese, I think it's legitimately called American cheese).

For lunch, my family and I went to 3G Vegetarian, which has been on my list for a really long time. This place is a bit on the pricey side, but all their items are vegetarian versions of Chinese dishes. We ordered from the dim sum menu.

This is the lo mai gai (sticky rice), where the meat is replaced with tofu bits that taste like tiny cubes of chicken nuggets. It was okay, nothing too special.

This is just some fried rolled up noodles that my mom really likes, which tasted pretty standard. The only thing they had missing from this was the sesame sauce :/ That's my favorite part.
The shiu mai (pork dumplings) was a bit too squishy, but I think it's because they came right out of the steamer. After a while, when some of the water evaporated, they stayed together a lot better. It obviously doesn't taste like the real thing, but it still tastes pretty good.

The taste of the ha gao (shrimp dumplings) was a but closer to actual ha gao; it had a little bit of a "seafood" taste to mimic actual ha gao.
These basically taste like the rolled up fried noodles, lol...it's just the noodles weren't rolled, haha.

These are the chicken dumplings, which took a long time to make (I think they didn't have them prepared, so steaming them took a long time). These were probably my favorite out of everything, just because I love the softness of the buns.

Afterwards, I really wanted dessert so we stopped next door (legitimately next door) for T-Mix! For dessert, I do have to say that this place is pricey. However, the portions are quite big, so I think it's worth it if you split with a friend. Plus, all of their stuff is just so Instagrammable. I really want to try the egg waffles and cotton candy drinks.

This is my dad's Rainbow delight, which was a tofu pudding drink. It has a bunch of different Asian desserts in it, like red beans, grass jelly, and lychee jelly.
Mine was pretty similar; I got the Tofu Pudding Delight, which came with similar things except without taro and red beans. Since their tapioca wasn't ready, I got mango stars! The stars are so cute :)

I went to eat out with Eggnoch and company, and we got to try Anton's pasta. I heard from others, including my nutrition professor (lol) that this place has big portions. :O The portions were apparently a lot larger, and they've downsized it a bit...it's actually kind of deceiving. They don't look very big, but I had a lot of trouble trying to finish x__x Plus, each person has to order at least $13 (which is the price of most of the pastas).

Eggnoch got the Fettucini Alfredo with asparagus and bacon. I tried a little without bacon; it's nice and creamy, and kind of heavy.
One person ordered spinach tortellini with red sauce, which was my favorite. It wasn't too heavy, and the tortellini was really good :D It was quite flavorful.
Another person ordered shells with vegetable red sauce and chicken. I could tell that they cooked the shells with the red sauce, which is the right way to cook pasta. It makes the sauce a bit starchy, and the shells are a little chewier.

I got a pretty exotic dish, which was the curry pomodoro. It works really well with shells, because the shells had little pockets of curry in them. The sauce was really creamy, which made it really hard to finish (this was basically three meals for me, that's how much food there was :O ) The curry isn't that spicy. It'd be better if they had a spiciness option.
Afterwards, I went to my friends' house (the two other people I ate with are siblings, and I visited to learn the harp :D ) We made these really tasty fruit tarts that one of them made. The custard filling was so creamy, and not too sweet.
I made a deluxe tart and ate it :D I'm fat.
For my first visit to UBC for summer class, I reunited with Fatmine to eat at the Pit. Unfortunately, they didn't have the friend brussel sprouts that I love D: I think they change their menu from time to time, because I noticed  a lot of other options I didn't see before, including the cocktail menu (in case if you're curious, I didn't try any cocktails -__- ). I've had their veggie burgers before, and they're pretty okay. I've had better though :D There's some veggie burgers that have a lot of good flavors, like Flipside.
Fatmine ordered their special, which was the buffalo chicken sandwich.
Fatmine also gave me this dank mango mousse cake :D Sooo nice, so creamy. The frosting was also cream cheese. <3<3
Afterwards, I reunited with some music friends downtown at the Warehouse. I'm in love with this place; it's super affordable ($5 for most of the options on the menu :O) This is their macaroni with bread.
ThaiThai got chicken strips and fries to share with everyone.
I got the veggie burger with their daily soup. The burger was pretty nice; it doesn't really stand out from the other burgers I've had, it's pretty standard. The soup was butternut squash? It tasted like Thai curry, it was quite interesting.
My other friend ordered pretty much the same thing, except his burger had meat.
ThaiThai also got fish tacos for himself, which were presented so nicely :D
Just to reiterate, all the items seen here from the Warehouse :O There's one on Granville and one in Chinatown. Although both places seem kinda sketch, the food is definitely worth it :D
