Before I ate with my family...I ate by myself, lol.
First, I went to Allegro Cafe located inside Whole Foods at Cambie Street and W Broadway. I've heard great things about this place. The muffins and cookies are super big, and their hours are extremely flexible. They also serve quality food (I mean, it's inside Whole Foods) and they're vegan and vegetarian friendly.
I actually couldn't tell that this was a muffin because all I could see was the surface...so I called it a cookie when I ordered it, and the cashier looked at me like I was dumb, lol. This was the cranberry chocolate citrus muffin; it had oats in it :P yum.
I also ordered a vegan breakfast burrito for part of my dinner, haha...ha. It came with salsa. I wasn't a fan of the wrap though; it was very pastry-like, like like a flour or tortilla wrap. It was still good, no complaints about the filling.
There was an event at UBC that handed out free cookies if you took a survey. I already forgot what the survey was about; I just care about my cookie, haha.
My small inari-don from Bento Sushi before my concert at the Chan Centre. To be honest, it's not really worth the price...but food is food, and this came out quickly.
My family came over :D yay. We went to Chef Hung's in Wesbrook Village for lunch. I'm happy to see more vegetarian options since my last visit (I believe they didn't even have vegetarian broth).
This are the scallion pancakes. Small, but not too oily, and always crispy :P
I love the long flat noodles from Chef Hung, they taste so homemade :) My only complaint was the tomato, which was unripe and a bit bland for me (I sound so snotty). I mean, I don't think the tomato is supposed to be too flavorful anyways, so I shouldn't even complain, haha.
I loved the shaved ice from this place; it's milky and so decadent. I was a bit disappointed this time though; it tasted like it was slightly diluted, or maybe the milk they used was thinner. We had to finish this quickly because we had an event later :O
I introduced my family to Chatime :D I came here two days in a row with them, and they still didn't have bananas for my chocolate banana smoothie...sadness. I got the strawberry yogurt smoothie, which tastes like yakult or calpis. :) The funny thing was Sankiupo ordered the rmilk tea, which I liked better, and he liked my strawberry yogurt, so we traded, haha.
We weren't sure what to do for dinner, so we found Hee Rae Deung after browsing the internet. They're vegetarian friendly, the combo orders are no joke; they are ginormous. The photos don't really do any justice, so I'll just describe the plate size. They're about little less than 1.5 feet in diameter.
I already forgot what this dish was called, but it had sea cucumber in it...that's all I know, haha. It wasn't bad.
This is the jjajamyung that was part of the combo. At first I didn't realize what the scissors were for, and I tried pulling out the noodles...and then we realized what the scissors were for, hahah.
This is Chatime Part 2! I got the cocoa smoothie because they didn't have bananas again...
While browsing and discussing stuff related to housing, we stopped by at Bean Around the World cafe at UBC. It's slightly pricey here, but I still enjoyed the food. Perhaps higher prices means more quality food...at least that's what I hope.
This is a vegan wrap :P Notable ingredients include peas and butternut squash. The other ingredients were just kind of there, haha. The sauce it came with was chili mango sauce? Some sort of spicy fruit sauce.
This is a hot chocolate that my mom ordered. I'm not sure how it was, but it looks nice :)
