Uppercase: Lemon Trifle

Uppercase and Lowercase are (actually "will be" for the latter option) at the new SUB. Uppercase offers dessert, beverages, and savory food. It's pretty much like a café. I got the trifle, which has lemon custard, cake, and fruit. It was quite good, and it was cheap. The lemon gave it a nice tang :P

Lowercase opens in August 2015; apparently, they'll be selling cookies, macarons, and other sweet items...hehehhe.

Vegan Adventures: Palate

This is part of the new SUB at UBC...part of my tuition went to this -__-

I'm really happy about the new vegetarian/vegan place :D Hooray...and they're hiring. Maybe I'll apply if I have room in my schedule.
I ordered the caprese sandwich and the Jone's vanilla bean soda. The prices were quite reasonable; under $7 or so? Not bad for the quality.

Vegan Adventures: East is East

I've been wanting to go here for a while...and we finally went, since the Taiwanese restaurant that we planned on going to was closed. Hehehehh.

They served us complimentary chai tea :D Fatmine and our other friend didn't like it, so I drank theirs ^_^ heheheh
The interior is also super cultural.

We got roti rolls, since it was our first time. We were tempted with the Silk Route deal but...first we had to see if the food was worth it (it is; I'll explain the Silk Route later).
They split the roti roll menu into meat and vegetable options; on the left, my friends ordered one with lamb and something else (they forgot, lol). I had the Gypsy and the Lion in the Desert. The Gyspy comes with eggplant, mano butternut squash and rice, and the Lion in the Desert has Peas, paneer cheese and potatoes.

Although I ordered the vegan chocolate pudding, I guess our waitress forgot our order (although it's impressive to memorize orders, I'd rather have them write it down so they don't forget...this happened several times to me :\ ) Still, I didn't mind :) it's dessert after all, hehhe. This rice pudding was called the Kir, and it comes with pistachios and rose water :P

Peqish @ UBC: Hummus Box

Here is my humble lunch...which was about $3 since I used my $4 off coupon, HEHEH. It's basically hummus and vegetables with cheese crackers. What I like about this is that it comes with two containers of hummus :D Sometimes, I don't get enough hummus, and I end up eating vegetables without anything :'(

Vegetables include: cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, red bell peppers

Roland's

Roland's is a nice place, although most dishes aren't very big or filling (except perhaps the burgers). for the price and size, it's not really worth it, though I do admit that the food is great and aesthetic.

Moochie Banana! Yeaahh, uh, there's not much banana...my friend finished it pretty quickly.

Here's Fatmine's shrimp and curry...it's not very large either.

My expensive bocconcini salad -__- it's on the appetizer menu because I wasn't very hungry...plus, appetizers are cheaper, so if this was $9, you can pretty much guess what the entrée menu looks like.
I do have to say, despite it's size, I found the way they served the tomatoes to be very clever. Normally, when caprese is served, they just have a slice of mozzarella with tomato and sauce everywhere, making a little pocket for ingredients keeps all the flavors in tact.

Afterwards, we went to the Museum of Vancouver to see the Happiness exhibit. Every last Thursday of each month, entrance is apparently "free", but the time I went, they asked for a donation. So, you can donate $3 and enter, which isn't a bad deal. :)

Adventures of Fatmine & Fatmanda: Shishinori

Not only is the interior to die for..but the food is also super adorable, and the servings are just right. I was super satiated after my meal :P

You see that projector in the background? They were playing Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. Hehehe. Heh.

Here is my avocado tofu sub! It looks small, but trust me; there's a lot of filling. When I picked up my sub...everything fell out, ahaha. Also, the guy next to me asked what I ordered, and got the same thing :D hehehe. The sauce that's used for this sub is teriyaki sauce...I could really taste the MSG, but what can I say; Japanese people love their MSG.

This is Fatmine's combo order!!! From left to right, clockwise, she had lychee tea, coffee jello, miso soup, cheese salmon bake (look at those bonito flakes), and salad :D Wahaa, so adorable.

Adventures of Fatmine & Fatmanda: Tart Bakery

They had a 3 for $4.99 deal...soooo why not :D
What I like about this place was that they serve savory and sweet tarts, and their tiny tarts are the perfect amount of sweetness. Moreover, the flakiness of the crust is to die for x__x

We had raspberry macaroon, chocolate mousse, and classic butter (which is essentially thick caramel, hwahwahwa).
